Gordon Ramsay brand ambassador for a new vegan oat milk campaign.

Gordon Ramsay has become a spokesperson for Silk, a plant-based dairy company.

The renowned chef, who previously stated that he was "allergic to vegans," has admitted to eliminating dairy from his diet "on a day-to-day basis."

The 54-year-old chef made an appearance in a video posted on Silk's Instagram page to advertise the brand's oat milk, dubbed the G.O.A.T. (Greatest of All Time).

Gordon told Delish that his plant-based journey began roughly eight years ago and has since evolved into a passion that he incorporates into the kitchens of his restaurants as well as his own home.

He goes on to say: "From a restaurateur's point of view, I could see a more creative demand for it [plant-based cooking]. So it keeps chefs on their toes. And then when I got to delve into the detail of what that movement meant, I had gone on to oat milk." Backing off true dairy products became an easy decision, he notes. "With the sort of demanding times in my schedule, cutting dairy out of my diet on a day-to-day basis was absolutely crucial."

Controversy surrounds Gordon Ramsay.

Ramsay's relationship with plant-based meals hasn't always been rosy.
A Twitter user in 2016 asked the chef whether he was allergic to anything.
Ramsay retorted, "vegans."

In 2018, he declared on Twitter, “I’m a member of PETA! People eating tasty animals….”
